PBT Missions – Statement of Faith on World Missions

At PBT Missions, we hold firmly to the authority of the Word of God and the mandate given by our Lord Jesus Christ to take the gospel to all nations. Our convictions about world missions flow from our Baptist heritage and commitment to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20).

The Authority of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ, risen from the dead and seated at the right hand of God, has been given all authority in heaven and in earth. His command to make disciples of all nations is binding upon every generation of believers until He returns.

The Mandate of the Church

We believe the local church is God’s ordained means for fulfilling the Great Commission. It is the responsibility and privilege of every believer, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to participate in evangelizing the lost, baptizing new believers, and teaching them to observe all things commanded by Christ.

The Message of Missions

We believe the gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16). This message proclaims that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4). Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone—not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8–9).

The Method of Missions

We believe that missionaries are to be sent out under the authority of the local church, supported by the prayers and resources of God’s people, and guided by the Spirit to establish reproducing, Bible-preaching, Baptist churches in every nation.

The Motivation for Missions

We believe missions exist because worship does not. The ultimate aim of world missions is that God would be glorified among all peoples as they turn from idols to serve the living and true God. Our labor is not in vain, for Christ has promised to be with us always, even unto the end of the world
